BOSTON, Mass. - The University of Massachusetts men's track and field team finished tenth out of 27 teams with 23 points at the 2002 New England Championships held at the Boston University Armory. Leading the way for the Minutemen was junior Kwesi Frimpong-Boateng (Accra, Ghana) who won the 55M dash for the seventh time this season. In the distance events, sophomore John O'Neil (North Reading, Mass.) finished seventh overall in the 500M dash with a time of 1:04.67, while in the 1000M run, freshman Matt Clark (Worcester, Mass.) turned in a time of 2:30.64 placing him fifth overall.

Junior Ken Scheider (Wood Ridge, N.J.) finished seventh in the pole vault clearing 15'1.00'.

The Minutemen compete next Saturday, March 2-3, the IC4A Championships held at the Reggie Lewis Center in Roxbury, Mass.
