ITHACA, N.Y. -- The University of Massachusetts men's tennis team lost to the University of Buffalo, 6-1, and Assumption College, 7-0, today in day two of action at the Cornell Invitational.

An experimental system of five singles games and one game of doubles was used this weekend with the doubles gameworth two points. Due to injuries and sickness, the Minutemen were forced to default both doubles games. Freshman Scott Sans Leeb (Lafayette, Calif.) was sick and therefore had to default his singles games as well. Freshman Reid Stubbs (Fort Myers, Fla.) picked up the only win of the day for UMass as he defeated Nick Ziziula of Buffalo, 6-4, 3-6, 6-1 at third singles.

The Minutemen will return to action Saturday, Feb. 16, when they travel to New Haven, Conn., for a 9:30 a.m. match with No. 60 Yale. The Maroon and White have lost their only prior meeting with the Bulldogs.
