Lappas TV Show Begins November 24

AMHERST, Mass. -- Coach Steve Lappas' weekly television show, "The UMass Basketball Show with Steve Lappas presented by Coca-Cola," makes its 2002-03 debut on Sunday, Nov. 24, on WGGB-TV (channel 40) in Springfield and WLVI-TV (channel 56) in Boston.
The fast-moving 30-minute program, again hosted by WGGB sports director Scott Coen, features game highlights, interviews with the Minutemen and previews of upcoming games. On Nov. 24 and throughout the season unless there is a scheduling conflict, WGGB will air the program Sunday afternoons at 12:30 p.m. and again that evening at 11:30 p.m.
Boston's WLVI will broadcast the show at 11:30 p.m. on Sundays, starting with the first show on Nov. 18.
The UMass basketball team opens its 2002-03 season against No. 22 (AP) Indiana in the first round of the EA Sports Maui Invitational, Monday, Nov. 25 at 5 p.m. (Eastern). The UMass-IU game will be televised nationally on ESPN2 with Dave O'Brien, Bill Raftery and Jay Bilas on the call.
