Men's Basketball Defeats Temple

AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Kyle Wilson scored 17 points, including five 3-pointers, to lead Massachusetts to a 63-53 win over Temple on Saturday.
The Minutemen hit 44 percent (11-for-25) from 3-point range as they snapped a five-game losing streak.
Shannon Crooks scored 17 points and seven rebounds for Massachusetts (7-8, 1-3 Atlantic 10). Anthony Anderson added 10 points for the Minutemen.
Temple (6-10, 3-2) was led by Lynn Greer, who scored a game-high 23 points but hit just 8-for-24 from the field.
Massachusetts never trailed in game, and had a 29-21 at halftime as Temple shot just 7-for-23 from the field. The Minutemen extended the lead to as high as 13 points twice in the second half.
Temple pulled to within six at 50-44 on a David Hawkins basket with about nine minutes to play. Massachusetts answered with a 7-0 run that sealed the game.
Wilson started the run with two free throws. Crooks added one point, and Eric Williams ended the run with a layup and two free throws.
Nile Murry added 11 points for Temple, while Kevin Lyde had 15 rebounds.
Massachusetts had a season-low nine turnovers.
