Men's Track Finishes Second At Atlantic 10 Championships

TROY, Ohio- The men's outdoor track and field team finished second at the Atlantic 10 Championships this weekend for the fifth straight season. The Minutemen totaled 190 points, just 24 behind the first-place URI Rams tally of 214.
The 4x100 meter relay team of Tony Ortega (Holyoke, Mass.), Hugh Reid (Brooklyn, N.Y.), Michael Harris (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Kwesi Frimpong-Boaten (Accra, Ghan) took home the gold with a time of 41.55.
Individually for the Minutemen, Reid captured the 400 meter-dash title with a time of 47.95, while teammate Eric Peterson (Seekonk, Mass.) won the decathlon (5,340 points).
The UMass men's track and field team returns to action next week at the New England Championships.
