AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Quincy Wadley scored 28 points and Lynn Greer added 26 to lead Temple to an 84-52 win over Massachusetts Saturday.
Wadley shot 10-for-15 from the field while Greer was 8-for-15. Temple snapped a two-game losing streak and handed UMass its worst loss in the five-year coaching career of Bruiser Flint.
Wadley and Greer played the entire game for Temple, which is down to eight players after losing forward Ron Rollerson to a foot injury earlier in the week.
The Owls shot 64 percent from the field (16-for-25) in the first half to take a 47-30 lead. An 8-0 run gave Temple an early 10-5 lead, and a 9-0 run, capped by a 3-pointer from Alex Wesby (13 points), made it 21-11. The Owls were never threatened after that.
UMass shot just 32 percent from the field (18-for-57) and committed 12 turnovers, which led to 23 points for Temple.
Flint's previous worst loss was a 91-60 decision to North Carolina in December.
Monty Mack scored 21 points for the Minutemen, extending his streak of 20-point games to eight - the longest by a UMass player since Julius Erving in 1970-71.
Jackie Rogers scored 13 points with a career-high 11 rebounds off the bench for Massachusetts.
