Anderson Earns Second A-10 Rookie Honor

Amherst, Mass. -- University of Massachusetts sophomore guard Anthony Anderson (Lynn, Mass.) earned his second Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week honor of the season for his performance in UMass' games against Holy Cross and Boston College last week. He also earned the league award on Nov. 18.
Anderson had career-highs of 13 points and seven assists (with just two turnovers) in 39 minutes of work in UMass' 67-56 homecourt loss to Holy Cross. He came back against No. 13 Boston College, to tally a career-high 19 points (including nine in the game's final 15 seconds), grab four rebounds, collect three assists and a career-high four steals in 36 minutes of the Minutemen's 80-78 loss.
For the week, Anderson averaged 16.0 points, 5.0 assists, 3.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals while shooting 55.0 percent from the field (11-of-20) and 50.0 percent (8-of-16) from three-point range.
UMass, which stands 4-2 after Saturday's heartbreaking loss at No. 13 Boston College, hosts rival UConn (4-1) in the annual MassMutual U Game, Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 9 p.m. in the Mullins Center.
