ORONO, Maine (AP) - University of Maine quarterback Jake Eaton rushed for one touchdown and passed for two more as the Black Bears beat the University of Massachusetts, 37-7, in an Atlantic 10 game.

Eaton ran for one yard in the second quarter and threw touchdown passes to Stephan Gomes and Chad Hayes in the third to help 20th-ranked Maine (7-2 overall, 6-2 conference) finish the season undefeated at home.

Tailback Royston English picked up 171 yards on 34 carries for Maine. English gained 113 yards in the first half as Maine jumped out to a 20-7 lead.

The Minutemen (2-7, 2-5) cut into a 10-0 Black Bear lead on a 5-yard touchdown run by Kevin Quinlan as the first quarter came to a close.

Maine responded almost immediately when John Gelsimino followed a 75-yard Lennard Byrd kickoff return with a two-yard TD run.

The Black Bear defense picked off Massachusetts quarterback Matt Guice four times. Lofa Tatupu, son of ex-New England Patriot fullback Mosi Tatupu, led the way with a pair of interceptions and nine tackles.

Kicker Chris DeVinney converted all three of his field goal attempts for Maine, and Gomes picked up 113 receiving yards along with his touchdown.
