PHILADELPHIA (AP) - Kitwana Rhymer's layup off a pass from Monty Mack with 26 seconds left gave Massachusetts a 65-64 overtime victory over Temple in an Atlantic 10 game Saturday.

Mack had 20 points and Rhymer 14 for UMass (8-10, 6-1 Atlantic 10), while Lynn Greer had 16 points and Kevin Lyde 13 points and 12 rebounds for the Owls (11-6, 5-2).

The Minutemen had taken a 62-59 edge with 2:59 left in the overtime but Temple tied the score at 63 on a free throw by David Hawkins with 44 seconds to play. After Rhymer's game-winning layup, Hawkins was fouled with only 4.4 seconds remaining but could convert only one of his two free throws.

The Minutemen have won four straight and six of seven after winning only one of their first seven games.

In a game that had 15 lead changes, Massachusetts had a 45-38 lead with 11:07 to play in regulation, but Temple rallied to tie the score at 47-47 on a slam dunk by Lyde.

The Minutemen took a 55-53 advantage on two free throws by Mack with 34 seconds to play, but Alex Wesby made a follow shot with 14 seconds remaining to send the game into overtime.

In the first half, neither team had more than a four-point lead until a three-point shot by Jonathan DePina gave Massachusetts a 30-23 edge with 3:05 left. A trey by Wesby with 35 seconds to go brought Temple to 33-30 at the half.
