AMHERST, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts made five free throws in the last 1:14 to pull out a 62-57 victory over Dayton in an Atlantic 10 Conference game Thursday night.
Shannon Crooks hit the first two on separate trips to the line to give the Minutemen (5-10, 3-1 Atlantic 10) a 59-57 lead with 32.1 seconds left. In the final seconds, Micah Brand added a pair of free throws and Kitwana Rhymer put in one to complete the conquest.

Dayton (10-8, 1-3) lost its third straight.
Tony Stanley had a game-high 23 points for the Flyers, who led 32-26 at halftime.
Dayton led by as many as 11 points in the first half, the last time at 32-21. But UMass made things closer by getting the last five points of the half on a 3-pointer by Monty Mack, his only points of the half and a breakaway layup by Shannon Crooks.
Dayton was 6 for 7 on 3-pointers in the first half, with Stanley nailing 3 for 3. The Flyers also hit 57.1 from the field before intermission.
