Minutemen Fall To Musketeers

CINCINNATI (AP) - Lloyd Price had a career-high 28 points and 11 rebounds to lead Xavier to a 87-77 victory over Massachusetts Saturday.
Price, who shot 7-15 from the field, helped the Musketeers overcome the performance of Monty Mack who made six 3-point shots for the Minutemen and led all scorers with 32 points.
Xavier (15-8, 5-5 in the Atlantic 10 Conference) outrebounded the Minutemen 43-21 and made 36 free throws to just eight for Massachusetts (12-11, 6-4).
Darnell Williams scored 19 points for Xavier, Maurice McAfee added 15 points and David West had 11 points and ten rebounds.
Chris Kirkland scored 18 points for the Minutemen.
Massachusetts took advantage of turnovers to take a 50-44 lead in the second half, but the Musketeers came back with a 12-0 run capped by a 3-pointers by Williams and McAfee to lead 56-50 with just over 12 minutes left.
The Minutemen tied the score at 58 with just over ten minutes remaining, but Kevin Frey scored six points in an 8-0 Xavier run to give Massachusetts their first loss in four road games.
