THE WEEK IN REVIEW: The Minutemen are coming off a successful week, defeating Boston College, 5-2, and rival UConn, 6-1. Sophomore Steve Prisco (Dedham, Mass.) went 2-0 at both No. 1 singles and at No. 2 doubles with freshman Will Shaw (Norwell, Mass.). UMass is now 3-0 in the fall season.
UP NEXT: The Minutemen will host Boston University on Oct. 11 at the Upper Boyden Tennis Courts at 11 a.m., and then will travel to Storrs, Conn., to compete at the UConn Invitational from Oct. 15-17.
TEAM RECORDS: Junior Bill Greener (Walpole, Mass.) is 5-1 in singles in the fall, including posting a record of 3-0 in dual matches. Junior Fabien Rabanal (Lexington, Mass.) and Shaw are also undefeated (3-0) in dual matches this campaign. In doubles, the tandem of senior Marco Casesa (Floral Park, N.Y.) and sophomore Todd Champeau (Waukesha, Wisc.) are 5-3 this season.
HEAD COACH JUDY DIXON: Head coach Judy Dixon (Southern California ?73), who is in her seventh-year with the men?s tennis team, is 64-39 with the Minutemen. Dixon also coaches the women?s team at UMass, where she is 93-48 with the Minutewomen in eight seasons and 133-62 overall in coaching women?s teams. She also coached the women?s team at Yale for three seasons, posting a record of 40-14.
