McGuirk Alumni Stadium

McGuirk Alumni Stadium has served as the home of Minuteman football since 1965.
The stadium hosted its first game on September 25, 1965, with UMass beating American International College, 41-0. The stadium was officially dedicated on October 16, 1965, when UMass defeated Rhode Island, 30-7, in a Homecoming contest. All told, the Minutemen claimed 16 Yankee Conference or Atlantic 10 Conference titles at McGuirk Alumni Stadium. Then on Sept. 27, 2014, UMass played its first-ever on-campus game as an FBS program against Bowling Green before a sellout crowd.
With a capacity of 17,000 fans, the stadium underwent more recent renovations in 2019 and 2022 and features an AstoTurf RootZone 3D3 Blend (2022). The facility also dedicated the new Martin & Richard Jacobson Press & Skybox Complex prior to the 2014 campaign. The skybox complex includes broadcast booths, coach booths, game operations spaces as well as a media area and hospitality suites.
Along with the football team, the UMass women's lacrosse team played its home games in the facility from 2007-15. The Minutewomen won their first ever game to be played in McGuirk on March 10, 2007 when they defeated Albany 15-7.
The stadium is also the site of UMass' annual Undergraduate Commencement, which graduated close to 5,500 students in the Class of 2019, and hosted the 1987 NCAA women's soccer championship.
