Martin Jacobson Football Performance Center
The University of Massachusetts Athletics Department officially unveiled one of the nation's premier football team buildings prior to the 2014-15 school year, the Martin Jacobson Football Performance Center.
Entering the team's seventh year calling "The Jake" home, the facility continues to provide the program with one of the country's most state-of-the-art training spaces.
During the 2020-21 academic year, the building received updates and upgrades to help it remain among the top team facilities in the nation. This included a refurbishment of certain sports performance equipment, the addition of an indoor turf area, a team nutrition center and the revitalization of the in-building artwork and displays.

• 55,000 square foot dedicated team facility
• NFL-style locker room complete with 120 individual lockers
• Individual coach offices featuring position group-specific meeting spaces
• Athletic training suite with three hydro-therapy pools
• Strength & conditioning arena complete with customized team equipment, turf workout area and nutrition center
• Theater-style team auditorium complete with center dropdown divider and dual retractable projector film screens
• Centrally-located Hunt Hospitality Suite capable of seating up to 250 persons for team meetings and gameday functions
• Dual second floor staff conference rooms alongside the 11 coach-specific offices
• Branding and artwork displaying the program's numerous on- and off-field accomplishments, as well as University of Massachusetts points of pride
• Located less than 25 feet North of the McGuirk Alumni Stadium field

• April 26, 2013: The construction phase begins with the official groundbreaking ceremony
• July 2, 2014: UMass hosts the Topping Out Ceremony in conjunction with the Consigli Construction Co., to mark the end of initial project construction
• Sept. 26, 2014: The new home for UMass football is dedicated prior to Homecoming against Bowling Green
• June 20, 2018: UMass Athletics announces Martin Jacobson's $5.58 million donation to the program. The UMass Football Performance Center is officially renamed in honor of Martin Jacobson's commitment to UMass football.
• Fall, 2020 - Spring, 2021: UMass Athletics makes numerous updates and upgrades throughout the facility, including an overhaul of the sports performance suite.
