Hockey Unveils 2018-19 Promotions Schedule

Check out everything on the docket for fans visiting the Mullins Center this season.

AMHERST, Mass. – The promotions lineup is set for the upcoming 2018-19 University of Massachusetts hockey season. Check out the rundown of everything going on at the Mullins Center surrounding each of the Minutemen's 16 home regular season home games and exhibition contest, which kicks off the slate on Oct. 6. Sat. Oct. 6 RMC (Exhibition) 8:00 PM FREE Admission
FREE admission - your chance to see the team before we officially kick off the season.

 
Fri. Oct. 12 Rensselaer 7:00 PM NewMass Night
Be among the first to see NewMass version 2.0 in action as nine newcomers add to the already talented returning squad for 2018-19, which includes the top-five point scorers from last season all back for another year. With our dictionary definition, fans will be sure to understand what NewMass means to our coaching staff and student-athletes. Fans will have the opportunity to share what NewMass means to them.

 
Fri. Oct. 26 Merrimack 7:00 PM Scare 'n Skate
Join us for a Halloween themed game in the Mullins Center. Kids will have the opportunity to "Trick or Treat" around the concourse and those in attendance will learn what some of the Minutemen's favorite Halloween costumes were when they were growing up. Fans will receive $2 off a ticket if they come in costume (no masks allowed and four ticket maximum).

 
Thu. Nov. 8 Providence 7:00 PM Military Appreciation Night
Veterans Day is Sunday, November 11. Join us on Thursday, November 8, as we take time to recognize, honor and commend the brave men and women who have sacrificed their lives for our country. We will recognize all current, retired and former military personnel. One free ticket will be issued to any and all military members (active, retired, etc.) looking to attend the game.

 
Sun. Nov. 18 New Hampshire 3:00 PM Thanksgiving Food Drive
With the holiday season quickly approaching, the UMass hockey team will use this opportunity to give back to the community. Fans are encouraged to bring canned (non-perishable) food to the game to assist in their contributions. All food will be donated to the Amherst Food Shelter by the team before the Thanksgiving holiday. Fans will receive $2 off for bringing in a canned food item (four ticket maximum).

 
Sat. Nov. 24 Princeton 7:00 PM Family Night | Saturday Night Skate
Bring the family out to a UMass hockey game at a discounted rate! Purchase two adults and two youth tickets for just $45 (a $54 value). Youth will also receive UMass prizes upon entry to the game! Additionally, stick around for Saturday Night Skate after the game, presented by Texas Roadhouse. You can bring your own or rent skates and skate with members of the UMass hockey team following the game on the main Mullins Center ice!

 
Fri. Nov. 30 UConn 7:00 PM Read A Minute Night
The hockey team has made a dedicated effort to giving back to the community and, with the Read A Minute program, they'll do just that, visiting local elementary schools and reading to third grade classes this fall and stressing importance of school and living a healthy and active lifestyle. The students in these classes will receive complimentary admission to this game and form the fan tunnel as the team takes the ice. This is a night centered around community engagement and watching our student-athletes give back to the community, and forming relationships with local youth.

 
Sat. Dec. 8 Quinnipiac 7:00 PM Teddy Bear Toss /
Saturday Night Skate
The UMass hockey team is bringing back the Teddy Bear Toss this year and would love for you to be a part of it! Participate in this classic hockey tradition. All teddy bears will be donated to Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield by the team during the week following the game. Additionally, postgame, skate on the Mullins Center ice with members of the team in another installment of Saturday Night Skate presented by Texas Roadhouse. You can bring your own skates or rent them free of charge.

 
Tue. Dec. 11 Yale 7:00 PM Hockey Holidays /
Faculty/Staff Appreciation
Celebrate the holiday season with the UMass Minutemen! Join us for a fun holiday themed evening at the Mullins Center. Fans are encouraged to wear their best ugly sweaters/t-shirts and come full of holiday spirit - ready for in game caroling and holiday trivia! The team will be sharing their favorite holiday traditions! As well, the student-athletes will be recognizing and thanking faculty/staff members who continue to commit to enhancing their student-athlete experience at UMass. Faculty and staff will have the opportunity to purchase $10 tickets to the game to see their student-athletes in action on the ice.

 
Fri. Jan. 4 UMass Lowell 7:00 PM Community Partners Night
As we continue giving back to the community, all of our corporate partners will be invited to enjoy a game in the student section. With students off campus for the semester break, all community partners are invited to attend and watch the team they support so strongly!

 
Fri. Jan. 11 Vermont 7:00 PM Draw a Minute(man) Night
Youth engagement is important to the UMass hockey team and encouraging them to participate actively in their school work. New this season, this program will provide elementary school kids in the area with a worksheet where they draw what they think it means to be a UMass Minuteman. All youth who submit a drawing will receive complimentary tickets to the game. Additionally, one winner will be selected from each grade (K through 6) and their drawing will be featured on the videoboard during this game. The group of winners will form a fan tunnel for the team taking the ice and will get to talk about their winning drawings.

Fri. Jan. 18 Northeastern 7:00 PM Youth Hockey Night
All UMass hockey players started off in youth hockey and have developed into the collegiate athletes they are today. During this game, we celebrate youth hockey and recognize its importance to the sport and the foundation it provides. Youth teams will participate in the fan tunnel for the team, be involved in our in game promotions and get to talk live as to their favorite part of coming to UMass hockey games.

 
Fri. Feb. 8 Boston University 7:00 PM Skating Strides / AHA Night 
On this evening, we play for something larger than the game - breast cancer awareness. Fans are encouraged to wear pink and will have the opportunity to honor the individuals in their lives impacted by breast cancer, filling out posters for who they "play for", which will be shown on the jumbotron during the game. Additionally, Amherst Youth Hockey and UMass Hockey have continued to form a strong relationship over the years as AHA shares a practice rink with UMass and is always supporting the team. On this night, we celebrate and recognize the young athletes right in our backyard. Our student-athletes are often present at their practices and continue to encourage and teach these kids about the hard work, dedication and sacrifices it takes to become a collegiate athlete. AHA members will form the fan tunnel, talk about their favorite parts of UMass hockey games and what it's like interacting with UMass hockey on a regular basis.

 
Fri. Feb. 15 Boston College 7:00 PM International Pride Night
Given that hockey is a global game, on this night we will host a celebration of all nations and highlight the international student-athletes on our roster. Additionally, our international student population on campus will be in attendance this game and we will recognize them and the tremendous contributions they make to our university as a whole.

 
Thu. Feb. 21 UConn 7:00 PM Season Ticket Holder Appreciation
As a program, our season ticket holders are our most loyal fans and play key role in our success as a program. On this evening, we will recognize long time season ticket holders and take time to appreciate their support. Season ticket holders will pick up their gift, as well as have the opportunity to explain to the crowd why they chose to become a season ticket holder for UMass hockey.

 
Sat. Mar. 2 Maine 7:00 PM  Saturday Night Skate | Senior Night
On our final regular season home game, we will celebrate our senior class as they enter the final stretch of their careers wearing the Maroon & White. Join us as we spend the evening recognizing this special group of student-athletes and their accomplishments, not just on the ice but off the ice as well, in the classroom and in the community. This night will also mark our final installment of Saturday Night Skate, presented by Texas Roadhouse.
