Men’s Lacrosse Puts 20 Minutemen on CAA Commissioner’s Honor Roll

RICHMOND, Va. - University of Massachusetts men's lacrosse placed 20 Minutemen on the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Commissioner's Honor Roll on Friday, as announced by the league office. The honor recognizes CAA student-athletes who achieved a 3.2 or higher grade point average during the 2016-17 winter and spring academic sessions.
The 20 Minutemen recognized for their success in the classroom included Grant Consoletti, Max Lambert, Jesse Leung, Shane Madden, Tom Meyers, Dan O'Brien, Greg Pandise, Isaac Paparo, Billy Philpott, Shane Rinkus, Nick Roy, Sean Sconone, Ben Spencer, Devin Spencer, Paul Spinney, Dom St. Laurent, Jackson Suboch, John Tierney, Dan Tracy and Jeff Trainor.
Massachusetts reached the CAA Championship Game for the second time in the last three seasons in 2017 after the squad ended the year in third place in the league. The Minutemen ousted No. 2 seeded Hofstra on a last-second, 35-yard heave by redshirt senior midfielder Dan Muller for a 13-12 victory. The team then ended the year with a loss to host and No. 1 seed Towson, which went on to reach the NCAA Championship Final Four, in the CAA finale.
