UMass Athletics Announces Updates to Football Home Game Experience

Adjustments made to parking around McGuirk Alumni Stadium, the Commonwealth Club, Stadium Drive, the Minuteman March and the Student Village
AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts Athletics announced new additions to the football gameday experience surrounding McGuirk Alumni Stadium on Wednesday. Information is available below detailing updates to parking near McGuirk Alumni Stadium, the Commonwealth Club hospitality area, tailgating spaces along Stadium Drive, the Minuteman March and the Student Village in Lot 11.
"We are excited to share the 2017 gameday elements that will drive and enliven the UMass game day experience at McGuirk Alumni Stadium," Director of Athletics Ryan Bamford said. "Hosting a majority of home football games on our campus has been our priority as it is critical in building the Commonwealth's Flagship football program. We appreciate the commitment and support of our fans and campus community as we work to host memorable gameday experiences for all those supporting and celebrating our Minutemen."
Single game tickets are available for all UMass football home games for $20 when purchased in advance and $25 when purchased on the day of the game. Tickets can be purchase over the phone by dialing 866-UMASS-TIX, in-person at the Mullins Center Box Office during business hours or via the UMass Football Ticket Information page.
The Minutemen host five games on campus this season, including against Hawai'i (Aug. 26), Old Dominion (Sept. 9), Ohio (Sept. 30), Georgia Southern (Oct. 21) and Appalachian State (Oct. 28).
Paid Parking at McGuirk Alumni Stadium (New Addition)
Beginning in 2017, every vehicle parking in the lots surrounding McGuirk Alumni Stadium will require a parking pass. A parking pass for Lots 22, 33 and 14 (RVs only), the South Stadium Loop and the ADA lot will all be available for $5 when purchased at least six (6) hours in advance of kickoff. It will cost $10 if purchased within six (6) hours of kickoff. Season ticket holders receive a complimentary parking pass [one (1) pass per four (4) season tickets].
The Commonwealth Club Hospitality Venue (New Addition)
The Commonwealth Club will be located between Lot 11 and Stadium Drive and complimentary admission will be granted for all season ticket holders. Food and beverage will be available for purchase in the Commonwealth Club. There will be a $5 charge for general public entry. A cash bar will be available for all of-age patrons. The Commonwealth Club will open three (3) hours prior to kickoff, "last call" will be 30 minutes before kickoff and the Commonwealth Club will close at kickoff.
Green Space Tailgating on Stadium Drive (New Addition)
Reserved, green space tailgating will return to Stadium Drive in 2017, located in the grass area between Lot 22 and Stadium Drive. Parking will be available along Stadium Drive before each home game beginning four (4) hours prior to kickoff. Limited spaces along Stadium Drive are available for purchase on a season basis at rates of $25 for season ticket holders and $50 for all other patrons. No additional gameday parking pass is required to access a reserved space on Stadium Drive.
The Minuteman March
The Minuteman March tradition will continue as the team will arrive at McGuirk Alumni Stadium before each home game by walking South along Stadium Drive to the Football Performance Center approximately two hours, 15 minutes prior to kickoff. The Minuteman Marching Band, under the direction of Timothy Anderson, will perform a 15-minute concert on Stadium Drive 2.5 hours prior to kickoff. Team spirit groups, including Sam the Minuteman, the UMass cheerleaders and dance team and the UMass honor guard, will join the Minutemen for their walk to McGuirk Alumni Stadium.
Student Village in Lot 11 (New Addition)
The Student Village at all 2017 UMass football games will be located in the West-most portion of Lot 11. A select number of reserved Lot 11 spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis for UMass students at no cost. On the Monday preceding each home game weekend, a digital sign-up portal will open for all students until available passes are exhausted or close of business hours is reached on the Wednesday preceding each home game weekend. A campus-wide email will be distributed to students in early September addressing this process as well.
