Tripathy Signs National Letter Of Intent With UMass Tennis

Nationally ranked four-star recruit commits to head coach Juancarlos Nunez’s first class

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts tennis head coach Juancarlos Nunez announced the signing of Jasmin Tripathy to a National Letter of Intent on Tuesday. Tripathy, who represents Nunez's first signing as the team's head coach, is a four-star recruit and nationally ranked competitor who hails from Thomasville, Georgia.

"I chose UMass because, from the moment I met the team, it felt like this is where I belong," Tripathy said. "The girls brought me into the fold without any hesitation and the care that Coach JC puts into each and every players' collegiate experience really stood out to me. I am so excited to be a Minutewoman!"

Tripathy stands among the top players in the United States for the Class of 2018 as she has been ranked as high as No. 79 in the country and No. 25 in the Southeast region. She is in the midst of a strong showing in 2017, which includes 11 victories over nationally ranked opponents.

"I'm very excited for the addition of Jasmin to our team for the 2018-19 season," Nunez said. "Her connection with the team and our goals for the program was evident when she visited earlier this fall. She is a tough competitor and exemplifies everything we're looking to build our team around on and off the court."
