The seniors both helped their respective squads to victories last week.

AMHERST, Mass. – University of Massachusetts women's basketball senior guard Jessica George and hockey senior forward Jacob Pritchard have been selected as the UMass Student-Athletes of the Week by the UMass Sports Luncheon Committee.
George, had a team- and career-high 16 points as the Minutewomen downed Central Connecticut, 74-59, last Saturday at the Mullins Center, which also marked the 100th career win for head coach Tory Verdi. The Waldorf, Maryland, native was 5-of-11 from the field and also came down with two rebounds plus one assist and one steal.
Pritchard logged his fourth multi-point game of the season and matched his single-game best in a UMass uniform with three points, a goal and two assists, in a 4-2 win over New Hampshire this past Sunday, capping a 2-0-0 week for the No. 4-ranked Minutemen. All three of Pritchard's points came on the power play and included a helper on the game-winning goal.
Sunday's win improved the Minutemen to 10-1-0 overall and 6-0-0 in Hockey East play, the best start in program history. UMass hockey is now unbeaten in its last seven straight, the longest single-game winning streak in program history and the longest active streak in the nation. Pritchard currently leads the nation in power play points (11) and ranks in the top-10 in Hockey East in points (5th, 13), goals (t-9th, 5), assists (t-8th, 8) and power play goals (1st, 4), as well.
