Tennis Earns Multiple Academic Honors From ITA

AMHERST, Mass. -- The UMass tennis team has been named as an ITA All-Academic Team for the 11th consecutive year. Programs are honored for posting a cumulative 3.20 team GPA. Laura Danai (second time), Maude Lecluyse (third time), Magdalena Ploch, Stephanie Stahlberg were all named ITA Scholar Athletes.
"We are proud of the team's effort and accomplishment." Head Coach Judy Dixon said. "As one of our stated team goals, our academic success remains a priority."
UMass is one of four Atlantic 10 teams honored joining Dayton, St. Bonaventure and Xavier.
Both Danai and Lecluyse were honored last season as Lecluyse is a three-time honoree (2007-09).
In order to earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status a player must meet the following criteria: 1.) be a varsity letter winner, 2.) have a grade point average of at least 3.50 (on a 4.00 scale) for the current academic year, and 3.) have been enrolled at their present school for at least 2 semesters (including freshman thorough senior year).
